Sage Truck Driving School: Empowering Drivers in San Antonio

For over two decades, Sage Truck Driving School’s San Antonio campus has been a cornerstone of professional driver training, equipping students with the skills needed for a successful career in trucking. Under the leadership of Area Manager Candi Delaughter, who has been with SAGE since 2017, the school has built a strong reputation for quality education and community partnerships.

“Sage San Antonio has been transforming lives since the early 2000s,” says Delaughter. “Our nearly 13-year partnership with Alamo College District’s St. Philip’s College allows students to access grants, making CDL training more affordable and accessible.”

The San Antonio location offers comprehensive training programs, including Class A and Class B licenses, as well as a Refresher course for current drivers looking to sharpen their skills. With both manual and automatic transmission training available, students are prepared for a variety of vehicles and industry demands. As a state-certified third-party testing site, Sage streamlines the process by offering onsite testing, saving students time and hassle.

Delaughter, who started as a staff assistant and rose through the ranks to enrollment specialist, program director, and now Area Manager, leads a dedicated team of seven. “Our team is passionate about helping students achieve their goals,” Delaughter said. “From enrollment to behind-the-wheel training, we’re with them every step of the way.”

As an Eligible Training Provider (ETP) certified site, Sage San Antonio leverages Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Ready to Work, and Training for Success grants to offset training costs. “These funding options open doors for students who might otherwise not afford CDL training,” Delaughter explains. “We’re committed to making this career path attainable for everyone.”

With a focus on hands-on instruction, financial accessibility, and a supportive team, Sage Truck Driving School continues to drive success for aspiring truckers in San Antonio. To learn more, visit the school’s website at www.sageschools.com.
